Frustrations...

Well, Megan and I have been back in Oregon for about three months now and I still have no job. It is difficult and frustrating. Questions always come up like, "Is this just because of the problems with the economy?" Another question has arisen because of an account I had heard from someone concerning their nephew in Virginia. This particular person has been unemployed for five to six months and finally decided to stop listing his Master's degree on his applications. Is this what we are up against? We achieve higher education to become "over-qualified" for jobs that anybody can do? We achieve higher education so we can fall into poverty faster than an "uneducated" person will? If this is truly my problem, that I am "over-qualified" with my Master's degree, the kicker is that my Master's degree is specialized in ministry, not in business, economics, education, or anything for that matter. In no way am I suggesting that my education was not worth it or not of high value to me, what I am saying is that it is frustrating to be ostracized in the job hunt merely because I have a Master's degree. For that, I too feel that I need to stop listing my highest education achievements in order to provide for my family in some way.
